Lean Startup
A methodology for developing businesses that emphasizes rapid experimentation, validated learning, and iterative product development.
Developed by Eric Ries and inspired by lean manufacturing, the Lean Startup methodology advocates for building-measuring-learning cycles instead of long development periods. Core principles: start with a hypothesis about customer needs, build the smallest possible experiment to test it, measure results against actionable metrics, and learn whether to pivot or persevere. The approach has been adopted by companies of all sizes, from garage startups to enterprise innovation labs at GE and Intuit.
